Stacey Harmsen is the Marketing Director for Petersen Pet Hospital. She has a degree from St. Ambrose University and has been running her own Marketing company for the past 10 years. An opportunity to assist Petersen Pet Hospital with their marketing became available and she couldn’t pass up the opportunity. She loves animals and they have always had a special place in her heart.
Stacey grew up in Eastern Iowa just a few miles from the Mississippi river and went to high school in the small town of Goose Lake. Growing up she had many pets; Jim, a German Shorthair, 2 cats, Samantha and Muffin (one of Samantha’s kittens) and 2 Cocker Spaniels, Travis and Abby. When Stacey was in high school a stray cat wandered onto her family’s property. The kitten was butterscotch with stripes and they named her Tigger. The poor kitty had been burned and was malnourished and the veterinarian didn’t expect her to survive. She was so tiny. The whole family took turns feeding Tigger with one of Stacey’s old baby bottles. They carried her around like a baby swaddled in a blanket for weeks. It took a long time, but Tigger made a full recovery and lived another 14 years.
In her free time, Stacey enjoys spending time with her dog Sam, a Border Collie , spending time with her family (especially her niece and nephew), reading, exercising, traveling and playing guitar.
