Nicole is a registered veterinary technician with Petersen Pet Hospital. She grew up in Oxford, IA until 2015 when her family moved to Harpers Ferry, IA. Nicole graduated from Waukon High School in 2019 and then moved to Cedar Rapids to attend Kirkwood Community College. She is currently attending the veterinary technician program at Kirkwood and anticipates graduating in May 2021.
She has always loved animals. Her dad (now retired) was a park ranger at F.W. Kent Park, and he taught her a lot about wildlife. Nicole used to work at Cedar Valley Humane Society which helped grow her passion for this field.
Nicole’s parents live in Harpers Ferry where her dad is usually out on the river fishing, even in the winter. Her older brother served in the National Guard and is attending the University of Northern Iowa to become a math teacher. Her family has a yellow lab named May and she adopted a 10-month old husky mix named Kodiak.
In her free time, Nicole enjoys the outdoors (hiking, camping, fishing, archery, kayaking), playing soccer, spending time with friends and family, reading, and listening to music.
