Dr. Krystal Knutson is an associate veterinarian, originally from Forest City, a small town in northern Iowa. She grew up on an acreage with dogs, cats, and horses, and has known from a very young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian.
Dr. Knutson attended Iowa State University earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 2010 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She worked in mixed animal practice for a few years before solely focusing on companion animal medicine and surgery. She loves the variety of her work, but especially enjoys soft tissue surgery, preventative care, dentistry, and senior pet care.
Dr. Knutson’s husband, Klint, is the Facility Commander of the Army Aviation Support Facility in Waterloo. They have two young boys, Kallen and Kipton. They share their acreage with a black Lab (Rogue), one cat (Marvel), and two Quarter Horses (Dude and Slick). In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outside on their acreage, horseback riding, traveling, and listening to audiobooks.
