Rachael is a client care specialist at Petersen Pet Hospital. She grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, moved to San Diego, California, and recently purchased her first house with her husband in Cedar Rapids.  In San Diego, she worked at Paw Commons Pet Resort, a doggy daycare, boarding, grooming, and training facility.

Growing up, her family always had dachshunds, and Rachael would often run around her neighborhood rescuing escaped pets and watching Animal Planet. This upbringing expanded her love of animals and made her more invested in their care. She knew she wanted to work with animals from a young age, which led her to Petersen Pet Hospital.

When she’s not working, she fills her time by doing crafts with her friends, playing video games, and spending time with her mini zoo. She and her husband own 2 dogs, 2 snakes, and 2 tortoises and hope to continue to open their home to more pets in the future. She hopes one day to continue her education and become a vet tech or vet assistant.
