Education: Kirkwood Community College
Sarah Lynn has lived in Cedar Rapids for many years now after relocating from the East Coast. She is originally from the state of Virginia and has lived in many states due to her father’s military service. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 2010 as a Veterinary Assistant and joined Petersen Pet Hospital shortly after. However, her training didn’t start at Kirkwood! She started training to be in the veterinary field at the early age of eight. Her childhood companions were very helpful in perfecting her bandaging technique.
She finds her position very gratifying and loves doing her part to assist in keeping our clients fur-babies happy and healthy. You will most likely meet her as she is checking in your pet for their appointment, but spends most of her time assisting with your pet’s medical treatments or surgical procedures. She is very passionate in her role at Petersen Pet Hospital and is working towards earning her degree as a Registered Veterinary Technician. In the summer of 2017 she received her Fear Free Certification. This certification means that she has been educated in the ways of making the entire process of taking your pet to the veterinary office much less stressful and fearful.
Sarah Lynn lives with her fiance, Kevin, their rambunctious German Shepherd, Chica, and their two cats. Their cat, Dexter, likes to think he runs the household but truly their older cat, Alphie, takes on the role of queen bee and reigns over both Dexter and Chica.
