Education: University of Iowa

Marie is a Client Care Specialist at Petersen Pet Hospital.  She is new to the Cedar Rapids area; was born in Southern California and moved to the North Suburbs of Chicago at a young age. Growing up, she was a competitive cheerleader and played fast pitch softball. She graduated from Warren Township High School in Gurnee, IL in a huge class of over 1,500 students.

She grew up with dogs and loves all animals. Her and her family have always treated their dogs like kings and they seem to always gravitate towards small breeds. Growing up her family had Fabio, a Cairn Terrier who loved to be outside and loved to cuddle. He showed her that dogs love unconditionally and proved that life is truly better with dogs in it!

Currently, she has a Pomeranian named Kevin. Yes, Kevin, after Home Alone. He is the light of her life! and is hoping to soon get another medium size breed and name him Buzz (Kevin’s older brother on Home Alone). Kevin loves her mom’s dogs; Fen (long haired Chihuahua), Blake and Henley (Maltipom brothers). He also LOVES to play fetch, and might have an obsession with tennis balls!

Her boyfriend, Clay, and her decided to make Iowa their home since his family is here and they love the Midwest. As a family they love to fish, watch scary movies, cook/grill, and work on their home. Marie met Clay at the University of Iowa (Go Hawks) where she attended college. Clay and Kevin are the loves of her life!

Marie is very happy to be a part of the PPH team and looks forward to meeting as many animals as she can along the way!
