Education: Winona State University
Krystal grew up in a small town close to Rochester Minnesota. As a young child she enjoyed socializing with others, so much so that it wasn’t uncommon for her to get in trouble for talking too much by her teachers. Krystal went on to pursue a degree in Communication Studies and Mass Communication at Winona State University. After college she moved to Madison Wisconsin, where she began her career in Human Resources. After meeting her husband, he convinced her that Iowa was the best place to live as he grew up in Mt. Vernon. That is when she officially became a Hawkeye!
Growing up, Krystal like many other young children, had a love for animals. It was not uncommon for her to stop people on the streets and start up a conversation about their fur-baby. She was able to convince her parents into getting cats, dogs, hamsters, bunnies, guinea pigs, and the list could go on and on. The love for being around animals has followed her through the years. She had always dreamed about working around animals but wasn’t sure how to connect that with her Human Resource background. Now Krystal gets to enjoy the best of both worlds.
As the Practice Manager at Petersen Pet Hospital, Krystal works hand in hand with Dr. Petersen to ensure our clients are provided with excellent customer service and high-quality patient care and over sees the day-to-day operations. Another large portion of Krystal’s time is spent managing all the Hospital’s Human Resource responsibilities. While she does not work in the reception area all the time, she does get to get out and interact with clients and patients daily. So, whether you are new to our practice or have been coming to us for years, she looks forward to getting to interact with you!
When Krystal is not at work she is spending time with her husband Doug and two children Kinsley and Huxley. They enjoy the outdoors, fishing, crafts and shopping! Their two dogs Paisley, a Wheaten Terrier, and Jackson, a YorkiePoo, love their older sibling duties, which consist of lots of love and cleaning up after the kiddos.
