Education: Iowa State, Kirkwood, Indian Hills Community College
Jessie is a student at Kirkwood Community College in the Veterinarian Technician program and she is currently doing her internship at Petersen Pet Hospital. She grew up in Albia, IA where she attended Albia Community High School. After graduation, she attended Indian Hills Community College and received an Associate’s Degree in Arts and Sciences. Jessie continued her education at Iowa State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science in 2011. In the fall of 2017 she received her Fear Free Certification. This certification means that she has been educated in the ways of making the entire process of taking your pet to the veterinary office much less stressful and fearful.
Jessie has always been passionate about animals and has always wanted an animal-related career. From a young age, she was always the one saving pigeons, rescuing and bottle feeding goats, and wanting to keep every stray dog and cat that crossed her path.
She now lives in Cedar Rapids with her boyfriend and his children. Jessie has a Great Dane named Phelps and a cat named Meow-Meow that lives with her and a horse named Sadie that lives in Palo. When she isn’t studying or working, Jessie enjoys trail riding her horse, going on nature hikes with her dog, and spending time with her family.
