Dulcie is a Veterinary Technician at Petersen Pet Hospital. She lives in Cedar Rapids and resides with her roommate, kitty Lina, new kitten Fred Weasley and snake Blade. Lina is a domestic short hair that loves to sleep and cuddle with Dulcie whenever she gets the chance. Fred Weasley is a domestic medium hair kitten that was recently added to the family and loves to give kisses and cuddle with Dulcie and Lina when he isn’t running around playing with his mouse toy. Dulcie was born in West Union, Iowa. She moved to Manchester, Iowa with her family when she was very young. Dulcie went to West Delaware High School, where she played indoor and outdoor soccer all 4 years, participated in the speech club, acted in musicals and plays, sang in choir, and was part of the FBLA club. After graduating in 2013, Dulcie went to Kirkwood Community College and graduated with her 2 year Liberal Arts degree. During her first 2 years of college, Dulcie volunteered at Cedar Valley Humane Society during the summers. She then enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program through Kirkwood and graduated in May of 2017.  In the summer of 2017 she received her Fear Free Certification.  This certification means that she has been educated in the ways of making the entire process of taking your pet to the veterinary office much less stressful and fearful.

Dulcie has had a passion for animals ever since she was young. She grew up with 3 dogs, Duke, Harley, and Ruby, her cat Gemini, and bird Kiwi. Sadly, Duke, Kiwi, and Gemini are no longer with us. Her family now has an assortment of animals that Dulcie gets to visit when she returns home for the holidays. Her family has a cow named Max, Cusco the llama, ducks, chickens, momma pig with her piglets, a rooster, and a peacock, along with Harley and Ruby. Harley is a Retriever/Great Dane mix, and Ruby is a Yorkiepoo.

In her free time Dulcie enjoys spending time with her friends, hanging out at coffee shops, visiting antique and consignment stores, fishing, camping, going on hikes, spending time at our little Iowa beaches, skiing/snow tubing  in the winter, watching movies and working out at the gym.
