Salina is a Veterinary Assistant at Petersen Pet Hospital. She was born and raised in California and moved to Iowa shortly after graduating high school in 2014. She attended the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College before deciding on a career path. She is currently enrolled in Penn Foster College’s Veterinary Assistant career program and will graduate in July 2018. After completing the Veterinary Assistant program she hopes to enroll in the Veterinary Technician program. She has loved animals since she was a young girl and grew up around dogs, cats, and farm animals. Dogs have always had a huge spot in her heart (especially large and x-large breeds) and she hopes to one day open her home to more rescue pups. After completing technician school Salina hopes to focus on canine rescue and rehabilitation.
She now lives in Cedar Rapids with her fiancé Reed and their 4 fur babies; Farley the lab/hound/pointer mix, Bear the rescue black lab mix, and Rex & Doug the rescue cats. When she isn’t studying she enjoys hiking, fishing, traveling, reading, watching sports, and wildlife photography.
